The wall between the lounge and kitchen was once the boundary of the Abbey grounds. The sofa leans against the original Abbey
boundary today. The Victorians extended this row of cottages, added gardens and built a new wall at the end of the garden.

Rest Assured: Cleanliness guaranteed

We pride ourselves on cleanliness therefore the cottage is shoe-less with slippers provided, or bring your own. Ideal for allergy sufferers, the vacuum has advanced HEPA filtration and mattress protector covers are aired between each guest and frequently washed! Pillows and quilts are synthetic.

The upstairs has white painted floor boards and rugs, the stairs and lounge are carpeted and the kitchen has an easy clean hard floor. The conservatory/laundry room has a ceramic tile floor. All our linen and towels are 100% cotton.

Fireplace and stove

This Norwegian Jotul is so efficient, it heats up the whole cottage. Logs are provided for a small fee. Gas fired central heating is included in the rate.

Lounge and sofa
Comfy sofa converts to double bed. Coffee table on wheels with storage

Warm and cosy in winter, come rain or snow. Christmas time at Moonstone is always a special treat. A small tinsel tree with fairy lights and many xmas goodies provided. Glastonbury High Street is festive, spirits are high!

Kitchen/Conservatory: dishwasher, washing machine, fan oven, coffee maker, coffee percolator, microwave, electric hand blender, electric soup & smoothie maker, kettle, toaster, iron, fridge/freezer - you name it, you will find it. Containers and thermos bottle available for your picnics, cling film, foil etc and a shopping trolley on wheels should you be car-less.

Moonstone Cottage garden and patio

A beautiful and peaceful private garden awaits you, featuring two private sun trap terraces, lawn, sun loungers, grapevines and roses. The garden is divided into three sections, the third section glimpsed through the arch beyond the lawn featuring an elevated stone terrace with wondrous views. The grounds of Glastonbury Abbey are vast, peaceful and glorious any time of year. see garden photos
